Hiring Club Manager (2019 Season)

Role / Purpose:
To provide club members with a range of services designed to create an enjoyable experience when participating in activities and using club facilities. The Club Manager reports to the RHLTC President or appointed Executive Committee.

This position would be ideal for College and University students as well as Retirees. Members are encouraged to apply.

Rate of Pay:
Budget or rate per hour

Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Must have a strong interest in the sport of tennis.
  2. Ensure that all issues in the communications log book are addressed or referred to the appropriate party.
  3. Organize socials as per boards directive
  4. Liaise with the Club captains for ICTA and House League
  5. Run the Monday night socials
  6. Liaise with the Club Executive and attend meetings as required.
  7. Enter and maintain all court bookings on the online calendar/website for the various programs, lessons etc.
  8. Liaise with members regarding court bookings, using the online court booking/membership registration system, club rules, programs, clinics etc.
  9. Advise members, as required, when their booking is finished; resolve issues that arise related to court access according to the court booking rules.
  10. Coordinate regular communication with the members through the Website email system and other methods such as Facebook.
  11. Respond to enquiries, including answering all calls & emails, respond to voicemails, referring / forwarding issues to the Club Professional or member of the Club Executive as required. All messages should be responded to or addressed within 24 hours.
  12. Address any identified problems/issues within 48 hours.
  13. Purchase and ensure all club supplies are properly stocked and in good order.
  14. Purchase refreshments for the socials/leagues.
  15. Ensure the clubhouse is clean and tidy, and monitors are cleaning floors, toilets and sinks; ensure that the patio is tidy; ensure the storage cabinets are kept tidy and locked; empty garbage cans, water plants, ensure the courts are free of any litter/debris and empty court garbage bins.
  16. Responsible for ensuring that all Court Monitor shifts are covered in the event a staff member is unable to work, the manager must cover the shift
  17. Complete other tasks, as advised by Club Executive, to assist in the operations of the club. Responsibilities for Monday - Sunday Court Monitor Shifts: Maintain communications log book with details from each shift (i.e. what was accomplished during the shift, what needs to be taken care of, any issues that occurred, etc.)
  18. Ensure that only club members use the facilities (including the washrooms) by checking online membership list; make sure that doors are closed and locked at the end of the shift.


  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a car

Hiring Club Monitors (2019 Season)

  • must demonstrate positive image with members and public
  • ensure strict adherence to all club rules
  • ensure members have the shoe tags and are using courts according to club rules
  • supervise all club leagues, activities, food preparation
  • organize round robins and be responsible for tennis ball allocation at socials and House League
