Tournament Rules

1. Discuss two or three optional times/dates within the time frame specified for the round with your opponents. For the first round, we have specified available times. For future rounds, look at our court calendar at http://www.rhltc.club to select times that you see are still open.

2. Once a time and date have been selected that is available for booking, email Brett at manager@rhltc.ca to ask him to book your court or you may book it yourself if you have available booking room and you find that to be more convenient and quicker.

3. Head to the courts at the date and time that was pre-determined. Each team or player (if singles) should bring one can of new unopened balls with them. They should be premium balls, either Pro Penn Marathon or Wilson US Open. Open just one can and the winning player will keep the unopened can. (We are not charging a tournament fee as players are providing their own balls).

4. Play a regular best of 3 set match, with regular ad scoring. There is a two hour time limit for all rounds except for semi's and finals. If you see that you may not finish, set an alarm on a phone to notify the players at the two hour mark. The team or player that is ahead at that time the alarm sounds is the winner. Partial games will count.

5. After the match, send your scores to the tournament director, Flaviu Dinca at: pastpresident@rhltc.ca, and cc Brett at manager@rhltc.ca so that the draw can be updated.

6. You can look at the draw sheet for results and schedule your next match as soon as you see your opponents posted on the draw sheets. If you fail to play your match by the specified deadline, you may be withdrawn from the tournament or the tournament director may select one player or team to continue.

7. If the courts are wet at your pre-determined match time, communicate with each other and re-schedule. Notify our manager Brett again, so that the courts can be re-booked. You may view the court conditions on our website. The link is on the main page and can only be viewed by members after logging in.

Please also remember that there is no prize money, just glory and fun. So, let's display the best possible sportsmanship and friendship. Don't call any ball out unless you are 100% certain it was out.

Here’s to fun, friendly competition! May the best team or player win!
