Welcome!

Tournament Rules

1. Tournament matches will be scheduled once the draw is created. All participants will receive a copy of the draw and schedule, which will also be posted on the website. Matches must be played at the specified time. Inability to play at the scheduled time will result in a default.

2. Head to the courts at the scheduled date and time. Each team or player (if singles) should bring one can of new unopened balls with them. They should be premium balls, either Pro Penn Marathon or Wilson US Open. Open just one can and the winning player will keep the unopened can. (We are not charging a tournament fee as players are providing their own balls).

3. Play a best of 3-set match, with regular ad scoring and a 10-point super tiebreaker in lieu of a potential third set. There is a two-hour time limit for all rounds except for semis and finals.

4. If you can see that you may not finish, set an alarm on a phone to notify the players at the two-hour mark. The team or player that is ahead at the time the alarm sounds is the winner. If the match has not reached the end of the second set, the winner will be determined by number of games won in total, regardless of number of sets won. If two sets have been played and the match is in the middle of the super tiebreaker, whoever is ahead in the tiebreaker will win the match. If the match remains tied in these conditions, one additional point will be played to determine the winner.

4. After the match, send your scores to the tournament director, Flaviu Dinca at: pastpresident@rhltc.ca.

5. You can look at the draw sheet for results to see your next opponent and time of your next match..

6. Schedules may be adjusted by the tournament director if matches cannot be played at the scheduled time due to rain. Rule 1 applies to modified schedules.

Please also remember that there is no prize money, just glory and fun. So, let's display the best possible sportsmanship and friendship. Don't call any ball out unless you are 100% certain it was out.

Here’s to fun, friendly competition! May the best team or player win!
